The Copenhagen Consensus Center's work has been influential in public discussion and policy formation. Then-Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in 2008 that the Center's projects had provided "a valuable insight for politicians", while the Danish Minister of Development Cooperation, Ulla Tørnæs, said that she would "be inspired by their advice and priorities in my future work".
The Economist wrote, at the time of the Copenhagen Consensus 2004 project, that “Copenhagen Consensus is an outstanding, visionary idea and deserves global coverage”, while President of Costa Rica, Oscar Arias, said of the Copenhagen Consensus project Consulta de San José that "it will produce practical ideas that leaders can implement."
