Background                                                  In Danish

The Denmark Consensus 2009 started on December 6, 2008 when the Danish people were given an opportunity to express their opinion on the biggest challenges facing Denmark on Politiken's web page (closed December 10th).

Together with the Danish newspaper, Politiken and the Danish opinion-research institute Megafon, we asked 1,100 Danes to identify the biggest problems facing the Danish society over the next five years.

The five biggest challenges identified were:

The Danish Economy (The Financial Crisis)

The Health Sector and the Hospital Service

                  Integration and Immigration

                  Climate and Pollution

                  Infrastructure and Public Transport

You can read an article on the first poll (Danish). You can also watch a video in which Bjørn Lomborg talks about the project (Danish) or read an article about the Denmark Consensus (Danish).
