Eminent Panel Conference

In Jaipur from June 8 to 10th 2018, all of the research papers written for Andhra Pradesh were presented to the Eminent Panel consisting of some of  most prestigious economists in India: Bibek Debroy, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India and member of NITI Aayog; Rathin Roy, Director of National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP); Amitabh Mattoo, CEO and Honorary Director of the Australia India Institute; and Alok Ray, Professor of Economics, Indian Institute of Management. Either in person or via video conference, the specialist researchers discussed their key findings with the Eminent Panel, with a focus on the costs and benefits that they had identified for specific interventions. The Eminent Panel interviewed the researchers, asking questions about how the solution would work in an Andhra Pradesh context, and probing the researchers' findings, before making decisions about priorities.
